This painting is my second piece in the “Sun Series”. A good deal of my work deals with what lies just beyond perception and I have always been intrigued by how the scientific experience of reality may differ from our perceived reality. In this case I was fascinated by the dual particle/wave existence of light as photons. This piece explores light as particles while the next piece in the series explores light as waves. The conundrum is that it exists as particles if you ‘look’ at it and try to count the particles, but turn away and it reverts to a wave function. If it makes your head spin, don’t worry, nobody really understands it.
In order not to break the pattrens, the piece is signed on the reverse.
Unframed Size: 24 × 30 inches
Framed Size: 25 1/4 × 31 1/4 ×2 1/4 inches
