Creation

In the winter, my photo buddies and I tend to make photographs indoors (don’t get me started about this winter, as we now have a moderate amount of water damage with areas of drywall ripped out and drying equipment in place and it sounds like an airplane is taking off in our kitchen, but I digress), and often go to the nearby Carnegie Museum of Art. While there, I typically create multiple-exposure abstracts by combining pieces from various artworks into one. But last week I tried something different. I saw this in a marble wall as I went down a staircase. I was intrigued by the shape embedded in the marble.

I kept playing around with it in Photoshop by duplicating, transforming, blending, and masking it until I came up with something I liked. Which was this.

To me, it looked like the formation of galaxies and stars in deep space. Like the creation of the heavens. What do you see?
