The Pear Orchard

Covid has taken a bit of a bite out of traveling for photography, at least it has for me. And so I found my mind wandering back to a trip I took to the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon with my friend Alex Morley last April. Yes, I know that Covid was ever-present back then as well, but we did take very specific precautions.

One of my favorite places to have photographed on that trip was a pear orchard that was in full bloom.

I did post a photo from this orchard before (with Mount Hood in the background), but I also enjoyed the ‘pure white’ feeling looking down the rows of blooming trees. The whole scene took on a very ethereal feel, which I tried to transmit in the processing by adding a subtle glow to the trees. I do hope to get back to that area again at some point. It was a beautiful place to photograph,
