MailChimp Problems

As readers of this blog may know, I have recently launched a second website dedicated to the interaction between art and health (particularly in the blog posts and ‘newsletter’). One of the commitments I made when launching the site is to keep up a monthly publication (The Healing Arts) to discuss various topics about this fascinating interaction. My plan was then to ultimately reinvigorate the newsletter for this website, which I have been very remiss in publishing.

The ‘mailing lists’ for both websites have been maintained by MailChimp, and though I haven’t found any problems with MailChimp as it pertains to this site (at least not that I know of), in the very short time that my other site has been online I have had nothing but problems with MailChimp.

The mailing list was constantly getting disconnected from the Squarespace site and people have told me that they signed up but never received anything. Some have received subscription confirmation and then nothing thereafter. Needless to say, this has been a real disappointment, especially since MailChimp is said to be such a reliable option. To be sure, I am not certain if the problem lies with MailChimp or Squarespace. Nonetheless, seeing little choice, I have switched the mailing list for the new Art & Health site from the free MailChimp service to a paid Squarespace email service that seamlessly integrates into their websites.

The long and short of it is:

  • I am hoping that the new method will work much better (or at least work!)

  • If you had signed up to receive The Healing Arts publication from the new site and have not already received the first issue, then please try signing up again here, confirm your subscription with the opt-in email that you will receive, and then the first (and subsequent) issues should arrive to your inbox. If you do this and you still don’t receive the issue please do let me know.

  • If information about the benefits of art on one’s health seems like an interesting topic to you, I invite you to sign up to receive The Healing Arts and to check out my blog posts on the site.

  • I am planning to make some updates to THIS site and to resume the (different) newsletter from here in the near future.

  • I can’t really recommend MailChimp to Squarespace users

I am curious if other Squarespace users that might be reading this have had problems with MailChimp as well??
