Trying New Things: YouTube

It’s hard for me to believe, but I have been continually blogging since my first post on January 14, 2007; over 13 years ago. Recently, I have been thinking of trying some new things, particularly if they can be integrated into this blog.

It seems like one of the most popular ways to interact today is via YouTube. I have made a few tutorial videos before - three to be exact - but the last one was several years ago. So I thought about the idea of trying to make more videos on various topics. I enjoy learning new things and I have no doubt that my first videos may not be as polished as some of the people who have been on the platform for a while, but I also have no doubt that if I continue to make them they will improve.

There is a lot of learning involved and a good deal of time and work, but I am going to give it a try and see what happens. I am planning to post a video every week (Thursdays), for starters and see how much I enjoy doing it.

My very first video in this ‘channel relaunch’ is an introduction to the new channel and a review of a magazine that has really inspired me.

In the meantime, I could use your support getting started and would truly appreciate it if you could go to my YouTube channel page and subscribe to my channel (there is also a red subscription button on the right, below the embedded video - which I had to insert as code, so I hope it works-might be better to use the YouTube page until I confirm the button functionality) and turn on notifications as well. Having subscribers would give me a good deal of motivation to make more videos. While you are there it would also be great if you could take a moment and write a comment on the YouTube site….perhaps even mention what types of topics you might have an interest in moving forward.

This is an experiment and I look forward to seeing how it goes. So without further ado let’s start it off:
