Thinking Out Loud

Since I have changed over to only working part time, I have a bit more opportunity to do things that I find interesting and that are important to me. I thought I would post some of the things I have been thinking about and perhaps get some feedback from readers.

Teaching photography and Photoshop is something I have had an interest in doing for some time, but getting a teaching position that is only part time is not realistic.

So what am I thinking out loud about? In the back of my mind I was wondering about setting up a Patreon page. For those not familiar with Patreon, it is a site where ‘patrons’ offer support ranging from $1 to $20 monthly, in various tiers, to obtain ‘premium content’. For me, that premium content might be videos on how I have processed and achieved effects on images that I post on this blog, instructional articles, technique tutorials, reviews related to photography and printing, providing downloads of Photoshop brushes and textures that I have personally made and use, tutorials on how to use the brushes and textures, and even receiving e-books or physical prints. Plus, who knows what else I might think of.

Another option I had been thinking about is providing one on one instruction via Skype or other platforms where computer desktops can be shared, or even in person if you are local.

In any event, I would still continue publishing this blog as I have been.

These are ideas that I have been thinking about that I might like to do in the not too distant future, but the obvious question I ask myself is how much interest there might be in these options. I thought I would put these ideas ‘out there’ in an effort to gauge the degree of interest in them. If you think that these options might be something that appeal to you, I would appreciate knowing via my Contact Form. There is, of course, NO OBLIGATION WHATSOEVER…..I am just trying to gauge the degree of interest and would also like to hear any ideas or comments blog readers might have. Thanks in advance to those who take time to let me know their thoughts!
