The Whale's Head

In my last post, I showed an image from Whaleshead Beach near Brookings, Oregon, and mentioned that even though I suspected that whales did visit the location that wasn’t how the beach got it’s name. There is a prominent sea stack at the beach. Let’s have a look:

The sea stack sort of looks like the head of a whale as it’s starting to breech. Are there a few baby whales doing the same? I am told that is how the beach got its name!
