More Urban Mural

As part of my “Mural Project”, I make photos of small parts of urban murals that seem as if they could stand alone as works of art outside the context of the whole mural. But I wanted to try something a little different; something to remove the ‘painted on concrete’ look that the pieces have had. So I tried processing them in a way that imparts a ‘painted’ look, but that seemed to give too sterile and contrived an appearance to my eye. But blending the image to allow just some of the underlying concrete to show through gave a finished look much more along the lines of what I was imagining.
