The Carrie Furnace I
A view of the outside of one of two remaining furnaces on the Carrie site. At one time there were seven such furnaces in operation at once.
The audio clip describes how the furnace was opened in order to allow the molten iron to drain out. You can hear what it was like to actually be there when sparks flew and the iron poured forth.
