That’s what the University of Pittsburgh students call the school’s Cathedral of Learning. At 535 feet and 42 stories tall, the Cathedral is the tallest educational building in the Western Hemisphere and the second tallest gothic-styled building in the world.

When one walks into the four-story high main study hall and looks upward, it is difficult not to feel an awe-struck sense of dizziness. It was that feeling that made me realize that my relationship with Cathy was going to be a lasting one. The building has been, and continues to be, a source of photographic inspiration.
