Motivation is a photography blog that discusses the creative aspects of photography. The posts will include thoughts about images and their interpretation, photographers and their work, technique, workflow, my ongoing projects, and perhaps even the occasional off topic rant.

One of the ideas for a photographic project that I have been thinking about for a while is making images of abstract shadows.  It is just a matter of being aware of them, photographing them when they occur (they are obviously a transient thing......which makes them that much more interesting to me), and seeing if there are enough interesting ones that I take notice of to make an interesting series,  We shall see as time goes on.

If you are interested in knowing the nature of the shadow, just hover your mouse over the image and all will be revealed!

Last Sunday I did some morning shooting with friends.  But with the sun rising quite early these days it can still be pretty bright at 7AM.  What better thing to photograph than shadows in that situation! It's not worth fighting the weather situation.  It always turns out better when you just shoot what is given to you instead of wishing for something else.
