Reimagining

I haven’t made any blog posts in several weeks. But that hasn’t been because of laziness! Not at all. In fact, I have been working quite diligently on several projects. Allow me to explain. Although I still enjoy nature and landscape photography, in the last few years I have really been drawn to multiple-exposure abstract work. The reasons are perhaps a topic for another post, but suffice it to say that is really where my creative interest now lies. But my outward presentation to the world (outside of this blog) hasn’t reflected that interest and still focuses on my nature and landscape work. I felt like I needed to reimagine my website and social media to depict my current interests.

Squarespace, after many years, finally developed a tool to migrate one’s website to their newest version, including blog posts. Prior to this, had I migrated, I would have lost all my prior blog posts, which, I am guessing, numbers well over a thousand. After all, I have been blogging since January of 2007! I can hardly believe it’s been over 18 years. I still remember writing that first post, but I digress :) With this tool now available, I thought the time was finally right to redo my website. So that is what I have been doing for the last few weeks (and the migration explains why older posts aren’t formatted as well as they might be….but, hey, at least they all came over!).

So, I invite you to check out my website’s new look at howardgrill.com. I realize some readers are probably on the site already while reading this, but others get these posts via email, so I have included the link. I would love to hear what you think about the new look, positive or negative.

At the same time, I have also updated the look of my Instagram feed (the old look is still there, I haven’t deleted posts, but the new look started several posts ago). I invite you to have a visit to see my new Instagram look as well, and follow me if you think you might find what I post to be interesting. The feed can be found by following this link (howardgrill on Instagram). My newsletter will also reflect the changes in what I am creating, and I hope you will consider subscribing if you don’t already.

Now that the majority of the work is done, I plan to start blogging on a more regular basis again! I hope you will find my posts to continue to be of interest!
