The dreaded Artist’s Statement!

No matter how many times you say that the images in a photographic project should speak for themselves, the fact remains that if the project is presented or displayed you are going to need an Artist’s Statement to go along with it. It’s an important addition that helps your audience put the project in context. It helps them understand the project’s purpose and what you are trying to convey with it.

It’s not easy to get those thoughts down on paper. And the tone is important. You’d like to communicate it in everyday language and not have it sound like pretentious ‘artspeak’.
