Motivation is a photography blog that discusses the creative aspects of photography. The posts will include thoughts about images and their interpretation, photographers and their work, technique, workflow, my ongoing projects, and perhaps even the occasional off topic rant.

Water Abstract - McConnell's Mill

I frequently go to make photographs in McConnell's Mill State Park in Portersville, Pennsylvania. I am sometimes immediately attracted to a certain subject and inspired to start taking photos.  But when you go to a place frequently there are times when you just can't seem to look at or see things differently than before.  When that occurs, like it did during a visit a few weeks ago, I always have a fail safe.  WATER!

I have always enjoyed making long exposures of moving water.  Each different shutter speed produces a different photo, and even at the same shutter speed the variations of what appears on the LCD is infinite.  I particularly like when the water looks like long strokes of paint. This one was my favorite from that outing.
