Diptych

In a prior post, I mentioned that I was taking a course that lasted all year, with one lesson a week. In this week’s lesson, we are exploring diptychs. This exploration is a bit different than I would have expected. Normally, I would choose two images that are of the same subject to be in a diptych. For example, I might have chosen two skyscrapers or two waterfalls with the same basic tonality or color scheme to go together. But in this lesson, that isn’t necessarily what we are doing. We are going with how the images feel to us when being placed together and then making sure they complement each other in some way based on the subject material. It required some thinking in a new way, but I thought I would show the two that I came up with.

To me, the two images in each diptych somehow feel right together. What do you think?
