More Black & White

One of the results of taking the course I have mentioned in the last few posts is having a new mindset regarding black and white conversions, even if that conversion is more along the lines of a ‘straight’ image without glows or blurs. I am no longer as concerned about keeping to ‘the rules’, particularly the rule about there being a full range of tones in a photo if a limited range is better at conveying the feeling and meaning of the image.

In this particular case, I wanted to convey the seemingly infinite source of the waves, and it seemed like darker tones would do that best. The image is one that I have previously posted in color, but which I recently converted to black and white.
