Perseverance

On my recent trip to Yachats (a great town on the Oregon Coast), it became evident that perseverance pays off. Only it wasn’t my perseverance. My photo companion Alex Morley suggested that we try to wait out the hail and frozen mix that we were being subjected to. I thought it was going to be a waste of time as it was really coming down heavily and had been for a while. We were right near the Heceta Head Lighthouse at the time, and decided to pull into the lighthouse parking lot in order to give it some time and see what happened.

Well, wouldn’t you know it! After waiting about 45 minutes, the weather suddenly cleared. Granted, the lull only lasted for about an hour or so, but during that time we were able to get to the hill overlooking the lighthouse, where I made this photo. I guess there’s a lesson in that!

And the dinner in Yachats afterward really capped off a great day.
