Fall Color Arrives At Moraine

Moraine State Park is a location that I frequently visit to make photographs. It has a bit of everything…..water, fields, trees etc. This year it seemed that the autumn color was really lacking. Turns out it just decided to arrive late. But when it showed up it really came on fast!

For comparison, I had also made an image using Intentional Camera Movement techniques of the very same scene.

By the way, see how there is no bright sunlight filtering through the tops of the trees (which can act as a distraction)? Of course you can try to frame the image so that there isn’t any sky in it at all, but that can be difficult. That is especially true in this case, where I wanted some ‘breathing room’ above the red trees since they were the real subject of the photo. In this case there was some light filtering through, and in my next YouTube video I am going to show you how I fixed that (it goes beyond simple cloning).
