How Wet Do You Need To Get?

The answer is not very, once you’ve learned your lesson (like I did a few months ago) and know that the waterproof outer shell goes over the boots and not inside them :) No clothes were soaked during the making of this photograph!

This was taken at the surreal Bandon Beach, where I have been hanging out quite a bit these days. I had taken this shot at various shutter speeds to see what effect I could get in the water and this is the one that appealed to me the most. When making long exposures it’s helpful to shoot an array of shutter speeds to see what looks best. However, even without changing the shutter speed, each image is different based on the turbulence and height of the incoming waves….each photo is a unique moment in time and unable to be recreated.
