New Life To Old Photos

As readers of this blog likely know, I have been traveling to the Oregon Coast quite a bit lately and have had the opportunity to photograph at Bandon Beach. It is a great place to shoot and it got me looking through some of my older photographs from there, as I had taken a workshop there with Nancy Rotenberg before her passing. That was way back in 2006! It really is hard to believe that was 14 years ago.

At any rate, I found this photograph which I had really liked quite a bit, except for two things. First, the sky was quite bland and cloudless, which I ‘fixed’ some time ago by adding a texture to the image. Second, the sea stacks weren’t perfectly sharp, probably because the wind was blowing strongly and the exposure was a relatively long 1/5 second. Plus the sensor had a blur filter (remember those). But using Topaz Sharpen AI, I was able to make it more acceptable, though not perfect. Old technology merges with newer software!
