Seen In Prague

One of the things I was doing while ‘sheltering in place’ was to look through some of my collections of older photos and even spend some time reworking a few of them. One grouping that I plan to go through is that of ‘statues with expression’. This particular statue image was one that I took on a trip to Prague back in 2014. I believe (based on an internet search trying to find and identify the exact statue) that it holds up a ledge on its back (which you can see behind the statue since, in reality, the statue is horizontal and I was shooting upwards over my head) and is meant to represent an ‘Egyptian slave’. I would like to think that it represents a ‘breaking free’ of bonds in the way I have presented it. At any rate, I thought that a conversion to black and white with subsequent sepia toning was the best way for me to present the image.
