Shorebirds At Seal Rock

On my last trip to the Oregon Coast, I had the opportunity to briefly photograph at Seal Rock State Recreation Center which is, not too surprisingly, located in the town of Seal Rock. The site is notable for its large off-shore rock formations which provide a habitat for seals, sea lions, sea birds and other marine life. Because these rocks are the home to so many species, it is strictly forbidden to climb on them, not to mention the inherent danger in doing so since they are quite tall, craggy, slippery and surrounded by the ocean. To make this photograph I used my 100-400mm lens at the long end.

I plan to return to this location again, as a couple hours just doesn’t do it justice.
