Elephant Rock Sunset

A few weeks ago, I wrote about watching the sun set through the opening of Elephant Rock at Bandon Beach. A day or two later I returned and, while it was still possible to see the orb of the sun through the opening in the rock, I decided to compose from a different viewpoint. I thought it would be interesting to show the phenomenon from the side and just see the stream of light pouring through the opening. I also enjoyed the way the warm light was playing on the water. The fact that the tide was low let me get in fairly close. You never know what Bandon is going to ‘serve up’, but it’s almost always photogenic!
