Quantum Physics

It is interesting how the things you are reading or doing with your life at any particular time can affect what and how you see.  I happen to be reading In Search of Schrödinger's Cat: Quantum Physics and Reality by John Gribbin, which is both a history and an explanation in layman's terms of quantum physics (no math involved).  It really is a fascinating story that brings the reader through the movement from classical to quantum physics in the early 20th century. So it is any wonder that this pattern of shadows in my hallway (made by window blinds) caught my eye?  Light as both a wave and a particle?  Electron orbit energy levels?  Quanta of energy?
