"Seeing Things In A Different Light"

Pittsburgh Parks

Artist's Statement:

Living in Pittsburgh, I have slowly come to appreciate the natural beauty that Western Pennsylvania offers. Ours is a quiet kind of beauty. We have mountains, but they are not towering ranges. We have rivers, but they are not of the massive and powerful variety. We have canyons that are grand, but not Grand. Our beauty tends to whisper instead of shout, with each season having something special to say to those willing to take the time to listen.

For several years, one of my projects has been to explore and photograph these areas in order to share this quiet beauty, which seems to receive little recognition outside the local area.

If you have an interest in learning a bit of the fascinating history behind some of these locations, read my article entitled "The Twin Jewels Of Western Pennsylvania", which appeared in Nature Photographer magazine.
