Magnolias

Place: Near Cleveland, Ohio

Location: Cuyahoga National Park

The moment I saw this small magnolia tree it gave me a very specific feeling that I wanted to transmit in a photograph. The image needed to be a 'simple' one and I felt that a sepia toned black and white photo with a shallow depth of field would bring out the 'daintyness' and fragility of these blooms and impart the feel of older botanical images.
