Leaf And Wooden Door

Place: New Hampshire
Location: Jackson Falls
In making this image, I was drawn to the way the wood of the door and the metal of the rusted hinge had an old and deeply wrinkled texture that was similar to that of the leaf. In addition, I enjoyed the way the yellow of the old paint on the door and the orange of the rusted hinge echoed the yellow and red colors of the leaf. Finally, I was intrigued that the green paint of the door symbolized the color of the leaf before its aging and that there was yellow paint emerging from underneath the green paint.
Is this exactly the way I found the leaf? Similar to the situation with my photo "Last Leaf Of Fall" - does it matter? For more about this philosophy and how it relates to fine-art photography take a look, if you are so inclined, at my article entitled "Photography And Truth".
