Lake Superior Sunset

Place: Michigan's Upper Peninsula

Location: Lake Superior, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

It was a chilly late fall evening, with nothing but a long and muddy hike back to the car to look forward to. Nonetheless, it was well worth the effort to get to this location in order to experience a vibrant sunset over Lake Superior. The tide was low at this time of day and the water trapped in a depression in the rock floor reflected the sky and clouds not long after the sun had fallen beneath the horizon.
