I have been experimenting with various ways of trying to express some of the underlying characteristics of flowers photographically. One of these ideas is to combine the photograph of a flower with an underlying texture, which becomes weaved into the image. When it works, it works exceedingly well. The problem, I have found, is that it doesn't work all that often. Here it did, as this is one of my favorite Botanical Portfolio images.
